Repeat Prescriptions

In accordance with legal constraints and best clinical practice, a consultation is generally required for all repeat prescriptions.

If your doctor has made arrangements for you to collect a repeat prescription from reception, a $20 fee will apply.

However, a telehealth consultation is generally an appropriate and convenient way to obtain repeat prescriptions if you are an existing patient of the practice and have attended for a face-to-face consultation within the preceding 12 months (may change to be 8 months - depending on regulations). Such a consulation is likely to be bulk-billed.

Restricted medications with permits (pain killers, ADHD meds etc) Patients MUST not be prescribed controlled medications by other doctors if the permit holder is available. In an emergency, only enough medication can be prescribed to last until the permit holder is available. It is the patients' responsibility to book appointments in a timely fashion. This is not just our policy, it is the law. The only alternative is to seek care elsewhere.
